How do you do that?

• Ask engaging questions. People love to feel interesting and talk about themselves. If you can get her to open up and share something personal or unique, you’re off to a good start.

Here’s an example:

• You: You seem interesting, (name) So what do you like to do in your free time?(not the most original, but it can go somewhere)
• Her: I like to write.
• You: That’s awesome! Writing as in journaling or working on a novel?
• Her: I journal daily, but I’m also working on a novel.
• You: Wow, writing a novel sounds super difficult! Is the novel inspired by your own life experiences?
